Job Openings
We currently have job openings at all levels: staff scientists, post-doctoral associates, lab manager, lab engineer, and full-time research assistants. At the moment, we are particularly interested in more senior hires; staff scientists or post-doctoral fellows. Prospective PhD students are welcome to reach out to the Principal Investigator for advice, but ultimately will need to apply via the neuroscience graduate program, biomedical engineering, or psychology at the University of Minnesota. We are always interested in hosting summer students – particularly those with fewer opportunities (e.g., attends a small liberal arts college, or has never met a scientist before).
Our interests are broadly in perception, and aim to take a theory-informed approach to the study of brain function. If not familiar with our work, please take a moment to peruse the Publications page. Our approaches include methods from cognitive, systems, computational, and translational neuroscience. If you share interests in the scientific questions and methods, please consider applying to join the lab. We would love to have you! Please do not reach out if you do not share an interest in scientific questions. In that case there are plenty of other labs in which you would find more joy!
We are particularly interested in candidates with a background in systems neuroscience (e.g., neurophysiology, imaging, histology, animal husbandry, behavioral shaping) and a strong computational skills (e.g., the ability to code, build computational models).
To apply, email Jean-Paul with a CV and a briefly statement explaining your interests in the lab, and goals for the future. The email is: noelx071 [at] umn [dot] edu.
